Despite the challenges it has faced in recent years, Huawei has achieved impressive 58.1% annual growth in smartphone sales, shipping 11.7 million units and ranking tenth globally with a 4% market share. This result makes Huawei the fastest-growing brand among the top ten smartphone manufacturers. It is interesting to note that the launch of the Huawei Mate 70 series, scheduled for October, could further strengthen Huawei’s position in the market thanks to significant improvements in the performance of its internally developed chips.
Samsung shipped 53.7 million units, up 0.7% YoY and down 11.2% MoM. Apple shipped 45.6 million units, up 5.6% YoY and down 10.1% MoM. OPPO shipped 25.2 million units, up 1% YoY and down 0.8% MoM. Motorola shipped 13.5 million units, up 29.2% YoY and down 3.8% MoM.
