Personally, it’s my favorite: I love its clean design, it works well and is free, and the best part is that it has an active community that keeps you informed of everything that happens on the road in real time. What are points for?
Now that we know how to check and get points, let’s get to the heart of the matter: Why do I want Waze points? We told you something before: They cannot be exchanged for money, but they do improve the user experience a little.
But basically, This is a gamification strategy Its purpose is to motivate users to continue using the app and contributing, i.e. to become a better driver and a better source of information.
So Waze is used to determine points. the level you have in the application: The more points you have, the higher the level and the better the reputation. Here is a table from Wazeopedia (note: it’s from Colombia, so the translation is different from the Spanish version, but it helps you get the idea):
As you level up in Waze, customization options expandedwith more avatars and custom pins. Similarly, you get editing permissions on maps for tasks like naming streets. Finally, you can get digital stickers or show yourself on the map so others using the app can see you.
