The current state of Xbox is without a doubt staggering. As you already know, historically this was the name of its console throughout its four generations, but over time it was expanded to include first games and later services. Which brings us to the fact that this has been the collective name that groups Microsoft’s entire proposition in the gaming market for some time now.
Therefore, and as we told you a few days ago, analyze the position of Xbox in the gaming market globally. shows us undisputed success, which draws both games and services related to them. However, the situation is very different if we focus on the console market, where after the great success that was the Xbox 360, those from Redmond “hit” with this generation, as it happened with the previous one.
It’s pretty clear to all of us by now that there won’t be a Pro version middle generation in the present generation, and that instead those from Redmond focused their efforts on the next generation (which according to some rumors could hit the market before the PlayStation 6, the same thing that happened with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) and of course also in the most lucrative part of the business today, ie. in games. Something that also explains to us why the company decided to move forward with its plans for Gamescom 2024, instead of keeping them to itself to play with the surprise effect.
So many games coming! That’s why we’re moving Avowed to February 18th, 2025 to give backlogged players some room.
Stay tuned for more of our games across Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios at gamescom, including our August 23rd livestream to see Avowed:… pic.twitter.com/3RnyVwlHRa

Well, things seem to be moving forward now Microsoft has moved the release dates of some Xbox titles to 2024 and 2025. In some cases, yes, with a specific date, in others they only indicate the year in which they will hit the market. This is their list as per a tweet from their official account:
2024
2025
The first thing this list reveals to us is something we already reiterated a few days ago, namely Admitted delay, originally planned for 2024, but which ended up making the jump to early next year. It’s not too much of a delay if the planned deadline is met, and it’s always better to wait a little longer than to hit the market with an unfinished game, as we’ve seen several times recently.
We also see that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a title that many of us are looking forward to, doesn’t have a specific date yet. We know it will be present at Gamescom 2024, but not on the machines made available to attendees. Xbox knows this game is highly, highly anticipated, so it’s possible they’re purposely keeping the suspense going. Although on the other hand, and given that this is a fairly ambitious title, it is also possible that they are not able to give a specific date yet, and it will even end up following in the footsteps of Avowed and being delayed until 2025.
