Opera 88 is a new version of the web browser for PC and, unlike what has been happening for many of its versions for a long time, it does not go unnoticed or is limited to incorporating changes corresponding to the version jump, such as fixes and optimizations, security patches, etc. .

Opera 88 is, in fact, the most exciting version of the Norwegian browser since its last and first release at the end and beginning of the year.

And the fact is that while Opera is a complete browser in terms of functionality, the entertainment it had before is missing something more every time it launches, which is not limited to collecting what Chromium brings and adding its own, all under the hood. All you have to do is pay attention to the official announcement of Opera 88 and the four lines to which it is reduced.

However, there is a practical level in this four lines that will interest browser users: are you an Opera user and usually open many, many tabs? Opera 88 brings the change that has been expected in Chromium and its derivatives for years: Firefox-style scrollable tabs. If you haven’t fallen yet, here’s the picture.

This way of scrolling basically is to reach a certain size – as you know, the more tabs you open, the more it shrinks until only the web icon is displayed and even shrinks – the side flaps that are open are open. Shown in the picture where open tabs are hidden so that it is not unnecessary.

But after trying it, I think Opera needs a little polishing, because compared to Firefox, it seems a bit “difficult” for me to qualify. Tab scrolling only appears when you have a lot of them open and the page icons are barely recognizable. This is not optimal or expected behavior.

Overall, Opera 88 is the first Chromia derivative to introduce this feature in its default configuration, and it’s important to be aware that because there are other alternatives for managing open cards – such as vertical bar stripes – this is the most intelligent.

In addition to card management, the second novelty of Opera 88 has so far been released only in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Poland, and it is possible to buy: shopping corner It’s called that, and that’s exactly what it sounds like, the kind of full-fledged shopping assistant with whom you have all the related online activities in one place.

As they buried themselves in gHacks, this shopping corner would have “price comparisons, coupons, trends, news and” the best deals “for the opera community”. Features somewhat similar to those already included in Microsoft Edge, but seem a bit more ambitious.

In any case, the Shopping Corner was released together with Opera 88, but it is still not available in these sections, so we will have to wait to try and assess its usefulness.
