QNAP Systems has launched the 10GbE L3 Lite switch: the QSW-M3224-24T. The managed switch features twenty-four 10G multi-gig ports and theoretically provides a high-performance network infrastructure for 4K video streaming and AV-over-IP applications, for example.
QNAP launches the QSW-M3224-24T, a 10GbE L3 Lite managed switch. This switch is designed to help businesses implement high-speed network infrastructure. The device features twenty-four 10G Multi-Gig ports and supports MC-LAG network redundancy, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance. This makes the switch suitable for applications such as 4K video streaming and AV-over-IP.
The switch provides twenty-four 10GbE RJ45 ports compatible with multi-gigabit NBASE-T technology and supports speeds of up to 10 Gbps per port using CAT-6a cables. With a total switching capacity of 480 Gbps, multiple L2 managed switches, unmanaged switches and high-speed network devices can be connected. In addition, the QSW-M3224-24T provides Layer 2 management features such as LACP, ACL and QoS for efficient network bandwidth management and enhanced network security.
QSS Pro
The QSW-M3224-24T uses QNAP’s latest QSS Pro network management software. This software provides L3 Lite management, including IP settings, static routing, and advanced VLAN features. The switch also supports Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation (MC-LAG), which ensures an uninterrupted switch network and ensures high availability and fault tolerance.
With IGMP snooping capabilities and SNMP management, combined with an AV-over-IP wizard, the QSW-M3224-24T can connect multiple AV endpoints and efficiently forward multicast traffic, preventing network congestion and unnecessary data transfers, reducing latency and improving the efficiency of network connections.
Focus on NAS
With the introduction of the QSW-M3224-24T, QNAP is taking a step forward in providing a high-performance network infrastructure for companies. The company makes its living primarily as a NAS manufacturer, but is not yet ready for change. Other hardware such as routers are also part of the portfolio.
