When Samsung introduced the Galaxy AI alongside the current generation Galaxy S in mid-January this year, there was a general feeling that this set of AI-based features and services It would be something exclusive for a high-end Korean manufacturer. And over the following months, we saw how its reach extended to previous generations, but in all cases and confirming the initial impression, always to high-end devices (smartphones and tablets).

This strategy matches what we see from other manufacturers, who decided to reserve their choice of artificial intelligence services for the first place in the table precisely as part of their sales offer. And that’s completely understandable, because brute force stopped being a sales catalyst a long time ago. Now, and quite rightly, power users demand excellent performance, yes, but also a wide set of features that are particularly practical for them.

So if you look at the Galaxy AI features, but also the ones coming from Google to Pixel devices, the Apple Intelligence features that will debut with iOS 18.1, etc. the common denominator is just that, usefulness, their great practicality. And as I suggested earlier, this is what makes them so attractive, and therefore makes them one of the star elements in trying to stand out from the competition, especially in a market as complex as the high-end market.

However, it seems that the Korean tech company has decided to go one step further and as we read in PhoneArena, Samsung is set to bring Galaxy AI to two very popular mid-range smartphones, which translates into a very significant and very considerate extension of the reach of something that we previously thought would be completely out of reach. Of course, it’s quite likely that not all features will make this leap, as some of them require computing power that’s beyond the reach of these devices’ SoCs.

According to the publication, the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 are candidates for Galaxy AI smartphones, introduced earlier this year and very well received in its market segment, a success that would explain why Samsung decided to take this leap. There is still no publicly scheduled date or list of features we can expect, although rumors suggest that its debut could come with the arrival of One UI 6.1.1 on the said smartphones.
