Trend Micro is adapting its Vision One platform to MSPs so that they can in turn introduce the company’s security solutions to SMBs.

Trend Micro wants to secure the medium-sized company. The security specialist is not planning to do this on its own, but with the help of Managed service provider (MSPs). These partners can manage a multi-tenant environment thanks to customizations in the Vision One platform. In other words, MSPs can use the Trend Micro Vision One platform to secure a portfolio of customers.

Several new tools in the Vision One platform are designed to help MSPs protect their customers. They can then provide customers with Trend Micro’s security capabilities, including endpoint security, network and cloud protection, identity protection, and more.

Too few people

Trend Micro opens the door by saying that SMBs need good cyber protection, but lack the knowledge and staff to do so. The company also points to its unified security platform as a plus point. Such platforms, where all solutions communicate with each other and are wrapped in AI sauce, are already more or less the norm at the enterprise level.

“We also see an increasing need among SMBs to address the risk of the growing attack surface and the shortage of cybersecurity experts,” said Kevin Simzer, COO at Trend Micro, in a press release. “This is a valuable opportunity for the broadcaster. Our platform offering enables MSPs to provide seamless cyber risk management to SMBs. In addition, it provides additional market opportunities for our partners.”

Trend Micro has more than 10,000 corporate customers. Small and medium-sized companies should not expect a Trend salesperson to show up at their door straight away, but can now get in touch with the offer through partners from the security world.
