Leader of the Venezuelan opposition Maria Corina Machado condemned this Wednesday “Kidnapping” of Maria Oropesa last nightcampaign manager for her and presidential candidate Edmundo González in the state of Portuguesa.
“They kidnapped her!”Machado reported this on his social media account. Xin which he described Oropeza as “an extremely brave, intelligent and generous young woman from Portugal.”
He also added:
She is the coordinator of the Venezuelan command in Portuguesa and has done an outstanding job of uniting and organizing the citizens of her country. The regime has just taken her away by force and we don’t know where she is.
Machado ended the message by asking “everyone.”both inside and outside Venezuela, that “will demand” the release of Oropezawho shared on his social media the moment when authorities entered his home.
“They enter my house without permission, there is no search warrant, they break down the door. (…) I have done nothing wrong, I am not a criminal, I am just another citizen who wants a different country,” Oropeza can be heard saying moments before his arrest.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, in his report X, denounced that The arrest “adds to the list of complaints about the regime’s crimes against humanity” of President Nicolás Maduro.
“This repressive irrationality must be stopped now.”” he said, estimating the number of arrests made by the Venezuelan government during protests over the election results at more than 1,000 people.
A month ago, Machado also condemned the arbitrary arrest of his security chief, Milciades Avila, who was released hours later.
