American Judge fired most of $10 billion demand Presented by Mexico bring to justice gun manufacturers in the united states facilitate the trafficking of firearms to violent drug cartels across the border between the United States and Mexico.

U.S. District Judge Dennis Saylor of Boston dismissed lawsuits against six of the eight companies that Mexico sued in 2021, including Sturm, Ruger RGR and Glock, citing jurisdictional issues.

He called the companies’ ties to Massachusetts “minimal at best.”

None of the six men settled in the state, and Saylor said they Mexico did not demonstrate that any firearms are sold specifically in Massachusetts caused him harm.

While Mexico argued it was statistically likely that some of the firearms sold in Massachusetts were ultimately illegally shipped to Mexico, Saylor said the country lacked sufficient evidence to prove a jurisdictional connection.

Other companies whose lawsuits were dismissed included Barrett Firearms Manufacturing; Colt Manufacturing Company; Century International Arms; and Beretta USA.

Representatives of the arms industry and Mexico did not respond to requests for comment.

Mexico to Continue Trial Against Six Arms Manufacturers

In response, the Mexican government said it would continue to pursue legal action against six American arms companies.

In an information note, the Foreign Office said that as this is a broad judicial strategy, further steps will be assessed.

He stressed that Mexico’s lawsuit in Boston is ongoing against two companies: Smith & Wesson and Interstate Arms.

“This decision does not affect the claim against these two companies and does not relieve the other six companies from liability.”

He assured that the actions against the six companies are ongoing. “Mexico is analyzing, among other things, whether to appeal or file a lawsuit in other U.S. courts.” (according to Reuters)
