The most popular browser on Android Google Chrome Although there are many alternatives in the Play Store. On the other hand, Google, which has established a clear dominance, has not rested on its laurels and continues to update both the desktop and smartphone versions. Just a month ago, four new features were added to improve the user experience.

And from what we read on Android Authority, a rather limited change is now coming; very useful pluginBrowsing history provides details about the websites we visit, distinguishing what we see in the browser itself and in other apps from the Mountain View giant.

A small change to better define our history

Google Chrome

Google, or rather the Google Chrome team, in addition to tracing back its plan to eliminate cookies, continues to add new capabilities to its already completed web browser. On this occasion, a small change that, although it may seem insignificant, will help us better understand history.

So far, Google Chrome history not only collects the web pages we visit, arranged chronologicallybut it also mixes them in with other apps we can visit from sister apps like News or Google’s own app (which includes the Discover news carousel).

For this reason, we may find ourselves in doubt about when and how we access certain sites. However, the American company has implemented the small change we mentioned to solve exactly this: it now says: which application each history entry came from.

It was a user at X (Artem Russakovskii) who spotted this subtle difference coming to Google Chrome for Android.

As can be seen in these screenshots, under the title of the visited URL, next to the domain name of the website, the application from which it was visited appears. This indicator will avoid some confusion: we will always know how we visited that page.

This is a rather subtle update that most users will definitely not notice, but for others who are used to using different applications from the American company, this is a relief. accurately describe each visit To connect to the network. Moreover, applications increasingly want us to stay with them with integrated browsers.

In this way, if it opens to save links from other applications, it is a very useful change. At the moment this indicator does not appear on our phones, but it should appear soon, now that it is no longer a mystery. It is not known if this addition will come in some way. Browser updateor by servers.
