Consumers are also being faced with a number of new products. For example, Western Digital is working on SanDisk MicroSD cards with storage capacities of up to 4 TB with UHS-1 standard and larger SD cards of up to 8 TB. It is not yet clear when they will be available.

Great skills

According to a press release from Western Digital, the company is introducing the world’s first SanDisk 4TB microSDUC UHS-I card and the first SanDisk 8TB SDUC UHS-I card. These products were announced ahead of the ongoing event in Santa Carla, FMS. These high-performance SD cards are designed for the smartphones, gaming devices, drones, cameras and laptops of tomorrow.

In addition, a 16TB version of the SanDisk Desk Drive for desktops and laptops is also in the works. That’s double the capacity of the largest external SSD the company currently sells.
