There have been many situations throughout my life where I have needed it. Watch DTT on my mobile phone or tablet: When I was a student, when we only had a crappy TV in the living room, when my parents had the only TV in their house and it was always busy, when I was away from home (e.g. when camping) or even when I was living in Madrid and wanted to see ETB. But for big problems, big solutions: I used IPTV lists like Tivify, Pluto TV, TiviMate, IPTV.org (the best in my opinion)… but in the end I always go back to TDTChannels.
Yes, some of the previous ones are still installed on my Smart TV and other devices, but a good app I watch TV on my mobile phone I am sure TDTChannels will not disappoint meAlthough it is not the best in everything, in general it stands out from the rest in a few words: in terms of the number of channels, the quality of the service and how well it works.
What has to be my favorite thing about TDTChannels?
First of all, simplicity from the start: no need to bother finding the app or granting special permissions, no. You go to the Google Play Store and download the app for free. By not actually doing it, no registration or account required.
There are other platforms like Tivify for example, which cover the general Mediaset and Atresmedia channels but not TDTChannels: You have it all for free, but yes, at the cost of adding a bit more advertising. A small evil that does not darken the overall experience in any way. But if they bother you, you can always check them out for 1.19 euros per month or 11.99 euros per year (not my case).
Once you have installed the app, go to the ‘Playlists’ section and load the ones from television (there are also radio ones) and here the doors open to a long list of free channels. Specifically, 650 state, regional and local television stations and 939 radio stations. I have a lot of them because normally what I want to see is either a general one or a regional one from Navarra or the Basque Autonomous Community, like watching an Athletic match when I’m away.
Having TDTChannels on your mobile phone is like having a pocket TV because the dynamics are the same: you choose the channel and it is played live, taking up the entire screen, without you having to do anything. Of course, it is not as if it is directly integrated, because the application is essentially a multimedia player for free-to-air DTT channels. There is no on-demand content, but you can pause playback and postpone it for a few minutes. You also find out when the thing you want to see is on air as the programming arrives.
I have TDTChannels installed on my mobile phone, tablet and even my Smart TV, but in reality there is no need for it because Mobile devices can stream content with ChromecastI was wondering if you also have Android TV or Google TV like me.
One thing I really liked is that whoever is behind the project is responsible for keeping everything up to date and working, so that in case of an error connecting a copy, it is fixed as soon as possible. Others boast of having thousands of channels, but there are duplicates and most are not duplicated: this is not the case for TDTChannels. This app is a guarantee: Playback is generally stable, and image and sound quality are acceptable..
Finally it is legality issue: I just want to watch TV, especially DTT channels, but I know that I always have it at hand and ready to use, without having to dodge anything or resort to tricks. This application is completely legal, as it reproduces the public and open links that the chains use to spread on the internet.
