British defense company QinetiQ will supply Ukraine with 10 TALON digger robots for mine clearance.
This was announced on Facebook by Oleksiy Biloshitsky, the first deputy head of the Ukrainian Patrol Police Department, Ukrinform reported.
“TALON will go to clear the mines of Ukraine. This is a digger robot that not only locates “gifts”, but also neutralizes them. “Before the war we had more than 12 cars, now QinetiQ will drive 10 more,” said Biloshitsky.
According to him, this robot takes up to 45 kg and can pull loads up to 680 kg. In the basic version, its length is 86.4 cm, height 42.7 cm, maximum weight – from 52 to 71 kg.
The first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department said that it allows the power plant to develop a speed of up to 8.3 km / h and work without charging from 2.8 to 4.5 hours, and in standby mode – up to 7 days.
As reported, 300,000 square kilometers of mines need to be cleared in Ukraine.
