Google has already officially introduced the new Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The new flagships of the Android ecosystem come loaded with new features, including the new Tensor G4 processor and many artificial intelligence. However, this time the new Pixels do not come with the new version of Android.
Actually, Pixel 9 mobile phone family comes with Android 14because the new Android 15 is not available yet. This makes us wonder, how many Android updates will the new Pixel 9 receive? The answer is: More than we imagined.
When Google introduced the Pixel 8 in October 2023, the company announced that Pixel phones would receive 7 years of updates from now on. Considering that the Pixel 8 was released with Android 14, this means that this generation will be updated to Android 21 in 2030.
So what about the Pixel 9 that comes with Android 14? This could obviously cause confusion among users, but Google has already clarified the doubt on its official support page: the new Pixels will not receive seven Android updates, but seven years of updates, including the Android 15 update that should reach the Pixel 9 between September and October.
