Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken, spoke to the foreign minister on Tuesday Alicia Barcena, duty of the Venezuelan government publish “a detailed and unaltered vote tally” presidential elections held on July 28 last year.

“This is our hope and our goal: use the OAS as a means to do this,” Patel stated this at a press conference.

A spokesman made the statement after a phone call on Monday. Blinken and Colombian Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo. in which they disagreed over the role the Washington-based Pan American Organization should play in the face of what is happening in Venezuela.

The governments of Colombia, Brazil and Mexico, which maintain relations with Maduro, are trying lead mediation efforts to find a way out of the crisis and on August 1, by their abstention or absence, they were the reason for the failure of the OAS Permanent Council to approve a resolution that called for an audit of the election results in Venezuela.

The US rejects Maduro’s victory. which was proclaimed by the National Electoral Council (CNE) after the elections of July 28 without any election results.

The crisis in Venezuela has sparked widespread protests that They resulted in the death of 25 people. according to several NGOs, and more than 2,400 detained, according to official figures.
