Google discontinues Pixel Fold, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

Google has stopped production of the Pixel 7 series branded smartphones and the original foldable smartphone Pixel Fold. This happened right after the announcement of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold series. The manufacturer had already removed the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel Fold from the phones section on its official website. However, the Pixel 7a is still listed alongside other smartphones on the site, including the Pixel 8 series, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9 series and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

This makes sense, as the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold offers radical upgrades over the Pixel Fold, including a larger display, thinner bezels, dust and water protection (IPX8), a new triple rear camera, and the Tensor G4 SoC.

As for the Pixel 7 series, which includes the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, both phones are now two years old. They’ve been on sale for $599 and $899 alongside the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro for the past few months, but you can’t buy them from Google’s official website anymore. The Pixel 7a is still available for $499, just like the Pixel 8a. The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are also available for $699 and $999.
