Gaza Health Ministry Raises Higher 40,000 preliminary death toll Israeli military offensive that began on October 7 in response to Hamas attacks.
In the last 24 hours alone, Gaza authorities have added 40 new deaths to the tally, bringing the total to 40,005, with some 92,400 people were injured.
The Hamas-linked ministry insists the figures are preliminary because bodies could be found in the rubble of collapsed buildings or in areas that remain inaccessible to emergency services.
