He Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro says country is under attack by ‘bot farms’ against web pages of the country coming “from Spain, Mexico and Argentinain the context of the political crisis that unfolded after the elections on July 28.

“Venezuela is under brutal attack from bot farms from Spain, Mexico and Argentina. Thousands of ‘bots,'” the president said late Friday.

It should be remembered that Maduro was declared the winner of the elections amid fierce criticism from the opposition, which denounced electoral fraud. and declared Edmundo González the true winner, while much of the international community is demanding that the government publish the protocol to dispel doubts.

The president described these “bots” as fake phone numbers that send “various texts to various accounts,” such as the YouTube channel of the vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello. “On Wednesday, he was attacked by Spain, Argentina and Mexico,” the president insisted.

“All artists who are in Venezuela and Venezuelans who are abroad are being blackmailed from bot farms.. The same applies to athletes, personalities and influential people, with a combination of threats on WhatsApp,” Maduro emphasized.

Maduro claimed that “political leaders are now influencers” and, insisting on a “big manipulation operation,” he called on “the Venezuelan people to resist the manipulation of the truth about Venezuela on social media.”
