At the auto show in Pebble Beach (California, USA), the premiere of Rimac’s new hypercar took place: the Nevera R model. This is the track version of the “normal” Nevera (but with access to public roads): the car becomes lighter, faster and more powerful by almost 200 km. The car’s four-motor power plant produces 2,107 hp, it takes just 1.81 seconds to reach 100 km/h, and the hypercar reaches 300 km/h in 8.66 seconds.
The Nevera R features All-Wheel Torque Vectoring and drift mode. The new fixed-position rear wing increases downforce by 15% and aerodynamic efficiency by 10%. This increases stability during braking and cornering, which can be completed more quickly. Not only the power plant, but also the brakes have become more powerful: the Nevera R is equipped with EVO2 carbon ceramic brakes with improved cooling.
The mass of the machine has been reduced thanks to a traction battery with a capacity of 108 kWh instead of 120 kWh. The power reserve has of course been reduced, but it is not stated how much (the power reserve of the normal Nevera is around 400 km). A total of 40 Nevera R examples will be produced, each priced at around £2 million.
Recently, electric supercars and hypercars with power over 1000 hp began to appear en masse in China, but the Rimac Nevera R, like the usual Rimac Nevera, bypasses them, at least in terms of power plant power.
