WhatsApp personalization is for many users a key aspect of the instant messaging service from Meta (well, one of them, you can also own Facebook Messenger and we can add Instagram direct messaging too). In that regard, I’ll admit that I’ve always been very partial to customization, but I understand that there are many users who use these features, and I completely understand their reasons.
The meta is of course very aware of this and that’s why regularly adding new features along these linesand this meant over time that two installations of the same application on the same operating system could differ slightly from each other. Not so much for the interface elements themselves, of course, as for others that are customizable, such as conversation wallpapers. However, it is true that there is still room for improvement in this regard.
In addition, this It is more important than it might seem at first glance.. Because? Well, because in the absence of this type of customization options in the official application, unofficial applications have proliferated that compensate for these shortcomings and add new features of all kinds, and unfortunately quite a few of them are actually breeding grounds for malware, in its several variants that can range from providing devices for their services to stealing all your data.
At a lower speed than I mentioned earlier, this would be desirable, but with some frequency we see developments in this regard, and as we read in Android Authority, Meta is testing the introduction of themes to personalize WhatsApp chats. At the moment, this feature is being tested in beta version 2.24.17.19 for Android, so users enrolled in the Android beta program are already starting to receive it.
Although it’s only being tested on Android at the moment, all indications are that this feature won’t be exclusive to the Android version of the app, but rather it will also come to iOS. However, what we do not know at the moment is when the deployment will be extended to the beta version for the Apple operating system or whether it will arrive on iOS already in the final version. Will there be more improvements of this type in the future? All indications are that yes, of course, and Meta undoubtedly put its efforts into improving WhatsApp some time ago, and since then the pace has been more than remarkable.
