Square Enix has confirmed the requirements for Final Fantasy XVI, which was released as a temporary PS5 exclusive and which coming to PC soon. The Xbox Series S and Series X versions of this title will not be available, leaving the franchise exclusive to PS5 and PC for now.

The requirements are high, but reasonable considering what this title offers on a technical level. I know you’re excited to discover them, so I won’t hold you back any longer. As usual I will state equivalence errors, Unfortunately, there are a few and they are serious.

These requirements correspond very well with the estimate I shared with you a few months ago.

Minimum requirements for Final Fantasy XVI

• Windows 10 as an operating system.
• AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel Core i5-8400 processor. Six cores.
• 16 GB of RAM.
• GeForce GTX 1070, Radeon RX 5700, Intel Arc A580 or equivalent graphics card.
• SSD disk with 170 GB of free space.

In this case, we have a serious equivalence error in graphics cards, because Intel Arc A580 and Radeon RX 5700 are more powerful than GeForce GTX 1070. This is closest to Radeon RX Vega 56.

Closest to Radeon RX 5700 and Intel Arc A580 would be a GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER.

With this configuration we can play according to Square Enix resolution 720p and 30 FPS, too low level require GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER, Radeon RX 5700 or Intel Arc A580.

Final Fantasy XVI Recommended Requirements

• Windows 10 as an operating system.
• AMD Ryzen 7 5700X or Intel Core i7-10700 processor. Eight cores and sixteen threads.
• 16 GB of RAM.
• GeForce RTX 2080 or Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card.
• SSD disk with 170 GB of free space.

We again have an equivalence error on the graphics card. The GeForce RTX 2080 has the closest equivalents to Radeon RX 6650 XT and Radeon RX 7600.

If we meet these requirements, we will be able to play 1080p at 60 FPS, according to Square Enix. An SSD drive is necessary to play Final Fantasy XVI well on PC.

When is Final Fantasy XVI coming to PC?

The game is confirmed to arrive on September 17th. We can use technology to improve performance NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.1which include scaling and image generation.

The NVIDIA solution accelerates v tension cores use smart scaling and use optical flow accelerator GeForce RTX 40 for frame generation with artificial intelligence.

If you have an Intel Arc graphics card, you can enable scaling Intel XeSS 1.3which uses the disk drives of these graphics cards to use hardware-accelerated artificial intelligence.
