Michelle Obama electrified the stadium where the Democratic National Convention is taking place, attacks Republican candidate Donald trump and gave Kamala an impetus Harriswhich he described as heir of “hope”.

The former first lady, a daughter of Chicago, was greeted with applause and cheers from thousands at the United Center, the site of the national convention where Harris will deliver her acceptance speech for the Democratic nomination on Thursday.

Obama said there was something “wonderfully magical” in the air not just in the stadium but across the country, “a familiar feeling that has been buried for too long.”

“America, Hope Returns!”: Michelle Obama

“You know what I’m talking about, right? ‘It’s the anticipation, the energy, the excitement that we’re on the cusp of a brighter day again,'” said Harris, who immediately shouted, to applause from the audience, “America, hope is back!”

In doing so, the former first lady referenced the “hope” motto that brought her husband Barack Obama to the White House in 2008 and drew a parallel with Harris’s personal story, who, like Michelle Obama herself, idolized her husband, Barack Obama’s mother, and had to mourn her death.

Michelle Obama to Trump: “Who’s to tell you that the job you’re looking for now might be one of those ‘black jobs’?”

Michelle Obama’s forceful speech against Trump, whom she did not name, moved thousands of people in attendance even more than US President Joe Biden’s speech on the first day of the convention on Monday.

The charismatic former first lady has criticised Trump’s “limited and narrow” worldview, saying he feels threatened by the presence of an African-American family in the White House and believes he has returned to the same “ugly, misogynistic and racist lies” in this campaign.

“Who’s going to tell you that the job you’re looking for right now could be one of those ‘black jobs’?” she asked the audience, who applauded her for what she said.

So he asked those present to turn out in droves to the polls in November to elect what could be the first African-American woman and the first person of Indian descent to the White House. (EFE)
