Soon, you’ll be able to easily access your saved passwords and bookmarks in Google Chrome across devices. No more syncing required.

Google Chrome will soon make it easier for users to access their saved passwords, bookmarks, and tabs on other devices. Previously, you had to take an extra step and enable Chrome sync. Now, you can simply sign in to your Google Account in the browser to access your passwords and bookmarks across devices. After rolling out on iOS last year, Android and desktop are now following suit.

Registration is sufficient

Soon, you won’t need to sync your device data with your account to access your saved passwords, bookmarks, tabs, and more in Google Chrome. You’ll be able to access them by simply logging into your Google account. It rolled out to iOS last year, and now Android and desktop are following suit.

This means that users will no longer have to sign in to Chrome Account if they don’t want to link their browsing data to their Google Account. “Today, users increasingly expect to simply sign in to access their content and sign out again to stay secure,” said Claire Charron, Chrome product manager, in the announcement.

No details have been released yet about when this update will be implemented. The company mentions in the blog that “users should monitor the site for new updates.”
