Microsoft is introducing a new version of Teams that makes switching between personal and work accounts much easier.

Do you use Microsoft Teams for professional video conferences, but also for personal meetings? Until now, you always had to install two versions of the video meeting platform. Microsoft viewed the business version and the consumer version as two separate platforms.

That’s about to change starting today. Following its announcement in March, Microsoft will begin a major rollout of a new Teams app that will bring your various accounts together.

All accounts in one place

According to Microsoft, there has been a huge demand among Teams users for an application for personal and work accounts. You can easily switch between your accounts by clicking on your profile. When you join a meeting, Teams will also ask you which account you want to join. Notifications will also show which account they are for.

Microsoft will begin rolling out this updated Teams experience to everyone starting today. If you use the Teams app on Windows or Mac, the update usually happens automatically. New users can install the Teams app from Microsoft’s website. The standalone app for individuals will also disappear.

Microsoft Teams 2.0

It’s a year of big changes for Microsoft Teams. For a few weeks now, everyone has switched to “Teams 2.0”. The new Teams platform is faster, lighter and more economical than the classic version.

Now Microsoft is trying to get everyone to notice the new Outlook. The new version is available to everyone, but for now you can still go back to the old version if you want. Microsoft hopes that everyone will switch over quickly.
