Chilean President Gabriel Boric assured that the decision issued by the Supreme Court (TSJ) of Venezuela and confirming the victory of President Nicolás Maduro in the elections “completes the consolidation of fraud” and insisted that Chile “does not recognize this false triumph”.

“There is no doubt that we are faced with a dictatorship that rigs elections“represses those who think differently and is indifferent to the largest expulsion in the world, comparable only to that of Syria, a product of war,” Boric, one of the region’s most critical leaders of Maduro, denounced on social media.

For the Chilean president, who expects to receive “insults” after this statement, Thursday’s decision is “a new slamming of the door” against those calling for “democracy” in Venezuela.

He also noted that Maduro’s “dictatorship” in no way represents left-wing political forces, since to do so it must “respect human rights regardless of the skin color of the person who violates them.”
