According to Mark Gurman BloombergApple accelerates testing of four new Mac models equipped with M4 chip. Apple plans to update this year MacBook Pro, Mac mini and iMac We could see M4 chips and new models in October. According to developer logs, four of the machines have entry-level M4 chips. Three computers Match It has a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. The fourth machine has an 8-core CPU and an 8-core GPU, and that’s not the M4 configuration we’ve seen so far. All four M4 Macs have either 16 or 32GB of combined memory.
The M4 chip in the 256GB and 512GB iPad Pro models has a 9-core CPU and 10-core GPU, while the chip in the 1TB and 2TB models has a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU. The higher-end iPad chip is the same chip found in some Mac models.
Gurman did not mention the M4 Pro or M4 Max chips, which will be used in the higher-end “Mac mini” and 14-inch MacBook Pro models, as well as the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The M4 Pro and M4 Max chips will have more processor and graphics cores, as well as more memory.
It’s unclear whether Apple is only releasing lower-end models with the standard M4 chip, or whether there are plans for M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max models, but those higher-end chips haven’t been seen in developer signups.
Previous rumors suggested the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models would be updated, and Gurman previously said a new, thinner Mac mini would be available with both M4 and M4 Pro chips.
