The well-known German manufacturer has finally confirmed the launch of two highly anticipated routers in Spain, the FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber and the FRITZ!Box 5530. Both have become two very important models in the AVM catalog and in this article I’m going to check your key specifications so that you are clear about what they offer.
The first thing to note is that these new routers do not need a modem or an additional ONT (Optical Network Terminal) as they include SFP AON, GPON or XGS-PON module, depending on the version we choose, which gives them more versatility.
This means that we can use the FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber and the FRITZ!Box 5530 directly into the fiber optic connection we arranged without any type of problem and are an excellent alternative to routers provided by default carriers.
Key specifications of the FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber and FRITZ!Box 5530

These new routers are ready to offer a high level of performance in both wireless and wired connections. Both are compatible with Wi-Fi 6, can work in two bands and reach a combined maximum speed of 3,600 Mbps (1200 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and 2400 Mbps in the 5 GHz band).
They use both models to maintain a high level of wireless protection WPA3 encryptionand to facilitate this type of connection they have WPS support and allow us to easily create guest networks. They are also compatible with WiFi Meshwhich means we can easily integrate them or create a mesh network with them.
The FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber and the FRITZ!Box 5530 have 2.5 Gbps WAN port which can switch to LAN. The first has four Gigabit LAN ports, two analog connectors and has two USB 3.0 ports that will allow us to connect various devices such as printers and external storage units. The other has two gigabit connectors and one analog connector.
As we can see, the most important difference that exists between the two is in the range of connections that each one offers. FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber is more complete than the FRITZ!Box 5530 and will be better suited to professional spaces and home offices, while the latter is more aimed at home users.
Both routers are compatible with FRITZ!OS 7.80the latest version of the well-known AVM operating system, which brings important improvements in terms of performance and security, and includes new features that make it the most advanced and complete solution in its category. I don’t have the official prices, but I managed to find the FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber for 289 euros and the FRITZ!Box 5530 for 229.94 euros when searching for reliable sellers.
