You open Android Auto and You can’t use some of the most important apps Like Waze or WhatsApp? This is exactly what happened to some users, like our colleague Manuel Naranjo from Territorio Samsung.
A new Android Auto bug is both intriguing and frustrating: some apps disappear both in the Android Auto app drawer in the car and in the Customize apps menu in settings on the mobile phone. Fortunately, there is a solution.
Android Auto adapts compatible apps to display on the car’s screen, making them as useful as your apps. What if suddenly Apps you use in Android Auto disappear for no apparent reason? Then you will suffer from the latest Android system bug for car.
The symptoms are: You connect your mobile phone to the car and notice that: Apps that were there before are no longer visibleLike WhatsApp or Waze. It is as if you have not installed them on your mobile and therefore they do not appear in Android Auto. Or as if you have gone to the Android Auto settings to hide these applications, those who suffer from this error have encountered the unpleasant surprise that the applications do not appear there either and therefore cannot be reactivated.
At least we have received reports that this bug has been fixed on some Samsung, Realme and Xiaomi phonesIt doesn’t seem to be very common, but since it affects phones with Android layers differently than before, it seems clear that it’s the fault of the system, not the phone in question.
So how to solve it? While typical Android Auto troubleshooting solutions like updating to a later version don’t seem to work, something as simple as uninstalling and reinstalling the missing app may work. It’s not optimal, but it’s easier than other tasks in a desperate situation.
Manuel organized it differently: Allowing the app to run in the background It is available on some layers. This does not affect whether the app appears in Android Auto, but if you are experiencing this error and nothing is fixing it, you can try checking if your layer has this setting.
