Today Apple announced plans to hold its annual iPhone-centric event on Monday, September 9 at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. The event will begin at 10 a.m., with some media representatives invited.

All four new iPhones are expected to feature a customisable action button and a new capture button for taking photos, with built-in gestures such as swiping to zoom in and out or soft-pressing for autofocus. The capture button will be on the right side of the devices, below the power button.

Apple is also adding the A18 chip to all models, so the entire ‌iPhone 16‌ lineup will be able to support Apple Intelligence features that will appear in ‌iOS 18‌. No other major new features are expected for the standard “iPhone 16” models, but the Pro lineup will see screen sizes increase from 6.1 and 6.7 inches for the Pro and Pro Max, respectively, to 6.3 and 6.9 inches. Both models will also feature the 5x telephoto zoom option that was exclusive to the Pro Max last year.

The standard Series 10 for Apple Watch is expected to have a thinner design and a larger screen, but the change won’t be radical. Apple also plans to update Apple Watch SE and we could see new health features like sleep apnea detection and blood pressure tracking on the Apple Watch Ultra, though it’s not clear whether Apple will roll them out this year.

There will be two “AirPods 4” models available: one is a direct successor to the current models AirPods 3the latter is a step forward with active noise cancellation support at a non-pro price.
