Skoda’s released a render of the interior of the new electric crossover Elroqwill be the younger brother of the popular Enyaq. The car corresponds to the Modern Solid design language. According to the developers, the interior is practical and full of innovations.
The interior retains the classic symmetrical architecture with clear horizontal lines and a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the middle of the dashboard. Meanwhile, the Elroq will introduce another new detail: it will be the first modern Skoda car to ditch the company logo on the steering wheel and get the Skoda text lettering.
It has previously been known that the company focuses on environmentally friendly materials. Skoda has confirmed that the crossover will be offered with four different interior themes: Loft, Lodge, Suite and Studio. Loft stands out because it uses a material that consists of 78% recycled plastic (bottles, etc.). The Elroq will be the first model to resemble Skoda.
The automaker said the material will be used in seat covers, door cards, dashboard, armrests and knee pads. The developers added that the material provides “a perfect balance between comfort, durability and stability.”
The Elroq will be based on the MEB platform and will be available with four different powertrains. The entry-level model will get a 168 hp motor, along with a 55 kWh battery. The dual-motor all-wheel drive version will have a total power of 295 liters, along with an 82 kWh battery. This will allow the model to reach a top speed of 180 km/h and cover 560 km according to the WLTP cycle.
