Microsoft will soon add new features to Outlook for Windows 11, including an upgrade to Copilot and support for PST files.
Since the announcement of the new version of Microsoft Outlook, many users seem to be missing new features in the new web app. Microsoft, meanwhile, has been working on the missing features listed on the official roadmap page and discovered by Windows Latest. These include an upgrade of Copilot, support for PST files, pinning favorite folders, and more sync options.
Microsoft has added some new features to the roadmap page that will soon be available in the new Outlook for Windows 11. One of these features is support for PST files. This will allow users to open these files in read-only mode and browse messages. However, this only applies to the Mail section.
In addition, frequently used folders can be pinned to the navigation pane for faster access to favorite folders. Copilot is also getting an upgrade. When writing an email body, you can not only help the AI assistant compose a completely new email, but also ask it to customize certain boring parts. In addition, Copilot will soon be able to help you create meeting invitations, where the bot can pre-fill all the sections based on the email thread.
Additionally, Outlook allows you to customize the sync window. Allows users to save conversations locally on the PC for a specific period of time. Currently, this is a default setting that offers a fixed number of days, for example, 7, 30, 80, and 180 days.
The full list of new features in development can be found on the official roadmap page.
