Apple Music is, as I’ve said on previous occasions, one of my favorite streaming music services, and I’d be putting my hand on fire to say that I use it the most. There are several reasons, although in order not to enumerate them endlessly, I will mention them Hi-Fi quality in standard subscription (remember he was the first to take this step), the editorial quality of his playlists, and of course the gem for classical music lovers that is Apple Music Classical.

Now, and as I try to apply myself in practically everything, the fact that I prefer a service, device or brand does not in the slightest push me to disparage the rest. In addition to Apple Music, I also use Spotify Premium, Amazon Music (with the five-month free promotion we told you about in June), and YouTube Music, the latter more often since I transferred my Google Podcasts subscription to it.

Each service has its pros and cons, but if there is something that everyone, absolutely everyone, agrees on, it is that, apart from sharing at least 95% of the catalog (which is appreciated, because otherwise the model would be as fragmented as e.g. film and series platforms), it is Its main concern is to retain usersit prevents you from succumbing to the temptation to switch to another service. This is exactly why the latest move by the Cupertino team surprised me so much. And as we read in 9to5Google, Apple Music now lets you export user-created playlists to YouTube Music. This is surprising, as I say, because it is common and expected that each service offers functionality in the opposite direction, i.e. that it allows you to transfer lists created by its competitors to it.

In this sense, we actually told you a few months ago that Apple Music is testing the integration of SongShift, a service aimed at users of this type of platform who want to make these types of movements. When we published this news, everything led us to believe that it was preparing to facilitate the migration of third-party services to Apple, but now that we see it, it seems that the intentions of those from Cupertino They could be much more bidirectional than first thought. And that is undoubtedly something very positive and it deserves to be emphasized. Of course, knowing how strained the relationship between Apple and Spotify is, it remains to be seen whether they will enable a similar tool for “Spoti”.
