YouTube Music is constantly improving and adding different types of features, and you’ll love this latest one if you’re one of those users who likes to share their music tastes with the world. Do you choose what you listen to or let an algorithm guide you? One without the other, of course, but if you’re maintaining balance or simply want the ability to exist…
… Now you can share your personal YouTube Music radioone that’s built from your tastes, i.e. what you listen to on the platform, and that offers an endless dynamic playlist for when you don’t feel like what’s playing at the front, or just want to rock out play and the music starts playing. Well, an opportunity has come to share this experience.
Although it would be most appropriate to say that the possibility remains here and is gradually spreading to all users of the service, since it has been in the testing phase for some time and there are those who have already been of help or at least those who have had the opportunity to do so. If you are interested, keep reading because the invention has its quirks and you should know them.
The first is that the ability to share your personal radio is all or nothing, in other words, you don’t get to choose who you share it with, but becomes public radio once you activate the setting. When your personal radio is public, you can share – or send a link – to whoever you want.
The second peculiarity is that you cannot publish your personal radio from the web application on PC, but rather you will need to do this via the mobile app: Go to “Settings > Privacy & Data > Channel Settings” and check “Enable Public Personal Radio”. And vice versa: just uncheck the undo changes option.
On the same configuration page, you can also choose to publish your statistics, which include data such as the most listened to musicians, songs and playlists, among other things, although this setting includes personal radio, only YouTube Music provides the option to separate this from the rest of the data. Likewise, unchecking this option will revert the changes.
In addition to all this, you yourself have access to all this data without having to share it with anyone: click on your user icon and in the drop-down menu you will see “Your Channel”. Again, it’s better to do this through the mobile app because you’ll find more things, including your personal radio.
