One of these secrets is the consumption of a beverage that helps preserve youth and health. This beverage is Matcha, a traditional Japanese green tea.

Here’s how she makes this drink:

  1. PreparationMichiko first boils about 60 grams of water. She pours half a cup of hot water into the matcha bowl and turns the chasen (bamboo tea whisk) a few times to clean the tools. Then drain the water and wipe everything with a clean cloth or paper towel.
  2. Adding a matchMichiko measures two grams of matcha using a traditional bamboo spoon and pours it into a bowl. Slowly pour the powder into about 60ml of hot water, savoring the aroma.
  3. Whisk the teaHolding the bowl in his left hand, he whisks the drink for about 20 seconds, making sure the bucket is in a vertical position. This creates a soft foam and brings out the flavor and aroma of the matcha.

During the summer months, Michiko adds crushed ice to the drink, making it refreshing and healthy even in the heat.
