Third generation Mercedes Benz GLS-class recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, which usually means a new model is due in a year or two. However, the current crossover is being delayed a little longer than usual, meaning it will face a second facelift.

Renewed Mercedes GL Spotted during testing in Europe, the luxury three-row SUV features a new front end and updated taillights with a star graphic. While the camouflage does a good job of hiding the changes, it’s clear that this is a relatively minor update that will focus on the front and rear. The model features a revised radiator grille framed by temporary headlights with an arrow-shaped design. The taillights are production-ready and feature a new star graphic, just like the E-Class. The model has a slightly modified exhaust and an updated bumper.

Photographers have only gotten a glimpse of the interior, which shows a large display partially hidden behind black fabric. We can also expect a new dashboard as well as redesigned controls.

It’s unclear if there will be any powertrain changes, but the current GLS offers a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six that produces 375 hp (330 hp) and 500 lb-ft (330 lb-ft) of torque. Buyers can also opt for a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 510 hp (550 hp) and 603 hp (330 lb-ft).
