GTA 6 has become one of the most important games and the most awaited. The official announcement of this title created a real fever and woke up a legion of fans of the franchise who are eagerly awaiting its launch.
The CEO of Take-Two confirmed that GTA 6 will hit the market between September, October and November 2025. This only applies to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S versions of the game, as a PC version has yet to be announced. All in all, this release is expected sometime in 2026.
GTA 6 is still more than a year away, but both fraudsters and cybercriminals are taking advantage of the game’s fever and the impatience of its fans to try doing business at your expense.
About a month ago, we told you that a fake ad was posted on social media offering participation in the GTA 6 beta and that it was actually an attempt to infect users with a very dangerous malware that could steal their information.
Facebook hasn’t learned a lesson and again allowed a fake ad campaign focused on GTA 6, which again offers to download the game’s open beta by redirecting to a link that takes us to Mediafire. Everything is set up to make us believe that this beta is actually being downloaded and installed, but it is actually malware.
I know that for our more experienced users these types of security threats are not a problem because they are obviously false, but it can end up a problem for those with less knowledge, and also for the most impatient who let themselves be carried away by momentary blindness.
Be clear about it Rockstar will not be offering an open beta for GTA 6and much less will let you download it via a link to Mediafire, Box, or any other type of cloud storage service. The game is also not available and will not be filtered on this type of downloadable media.
As a basic security measure to protect you and your computer Always avoid this type of adand also links to external sources that promise games that haven’t been released yet, beta versions, or games that, even if released, aren’t from trusted sources, because in these cases you’re most likely to end up with a malware infection.
