Astronauts reveal secret behind Starliner’s pulsating sound

NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore reported a pulsating sound coming from his spacecraft at the International Space Station Boeing StarlinerThe issue caused by incorrect audio configuration has been resolved without impacting crew or station operations.

Fix Starliner audio crash

The pulsating sound that NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore heard from the speakers of his Boeing Starliner spacecraft on the International Space Station (ISS) has stopped. The speaker feedback was the result of sound reconfiguration between the space station and the craft Starliner.

Technical consequences of sound anomaly

The space station’s audio system is complex because it allows multiple spacecraft and modules to be connected together and is frequently subject to noise and feedback. Crew members are asked to contact the flight control center when they hear sounds coming from the communications system.

According to Wilmore, the feedback from the speakers has no technical impact on the crew, Starliner or the operation of the station, including the unmanned Starliner leaving the station before Friday, September 6.
