Qualcomm has introduced the new platforms of the Snapdragon X family, and they are more affordable than before. We have already seen a leak about the octa-core model and even heard about the benchmarks, but Qualcomm has announced three new products at once: Snapdragon X Plus X1P-66-100, X1P-46-100 and X1P-42-100.
The first has a 10-core CPU and differs from the X1P-64-100 only in frequency, the second two are eight-core models that differ only in frequency.
As you can see, the CPU frequency here can vary between 200-600 MHz depending on the mode, and the different GPU frequencies provide a performance of 1.7 TFLOPS or 2.1 TFLOPS. In both cases, it is significantly lower than in the older family models.
As Qualcomm itself said, the new platforms will allow manufacturers to produce laptops priced at $ 700-$ 900. Previously, the company’s representative said that such platforms will be available only in 2025, but as we see, everything happened much earlier. Moreover, from today it will be possible to purchase laptops with new SoCs. However, given Intel’s promises regarding its new Lunar Lake CPUs, it is not a fact that the choice in favor of Snapdragon X Plus will be optimal.
