Bloodborne emulated on PC has gotten a lot better, at this rate we’ll be able to play it before Christmas

If someone asked me which game I’m most looking forward to on PC, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second and say that it’s Bloodborne, a title I really enjoyed on PS4 and could be improved in many ways with an official port to the platform. Unfortunately Sony is not interested when making a remaster for neither PC nor PS5, or so it seems, so right now emulation is my only hope and that of other fans of the franchise.

PS4 game emulation under the ShadPS4 emulator has improved a lot in recent months, but the case Bloodborne was very specificbecause this game has gone from not being able to get past the all-red title screen to being in a pretty playable state right now, with many of the graphical effects rendered correctly.

This development was like going from practically nothing to playing a game a very advanced stage of emulationas we can see in the attached videos, in just three months. The most difficult part has already been done, the barrier that prevented the game from being ported to PC has collapsed, and now it remains to continue polishing and optimizing so that everything works properly and there are no graphical errors.

Bloodborne runs on PC at 1080p and a steady 30 FPS

This is the current state and the main goal of the programmers in charge of this project is to polish things up to achieve to recreate a stable and faithful experience to what the game has to offer on PS4. But don’t worry, they won’t stop there, they have confirmed that they are also working on introducing graphical improvements in Bloodborne and to improve the graphics processing and its performance on PC, we have already seen that the game could reach 144 FPS.

The most important graphical improvements that an emulated version of Bloodborne on PC could bring are not only higher resolution and higher frame rates, but I’ve also seen mods to improve texture quality and dynamic shadowsfour elements that alone are enough to practically be a remaster of the original.

The videos that have been released confirm that there is still a lot of work to be done, but they also show it a lot of work is done and this emulation has made huge strides. If those responsible for the project can keep up the momentum, we might be able to play Bloodborne on PC before Christmas. We have reasons to be positive, that’s for sure.
