The Acer Swift is the Taiwanese manufacturer’s flagship line of consumer laptops, and for its presentation at IFA 2024, it’s been conveniently updated with versions for the three new processor platforms introduced at the show. We will look at the main characteristics of each of them.

Acer Swift 14 AI and Acer Swift 16 AI

They are the first Acer notebooks with Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors. The manufacturer emphasizes improvements in processing, in graphics performance with integrated Intel Arc, in a neural processing unit (NPU) with 48 TOPS for accelerate AI workloads and in its energy efficiency, which should ensure greater autonomy, up to 29 hours in these devices.

Acer sells them in two versions depending on the screen size. 14 or 16 inches. Both offer different panel levels up to OLED with 3K resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color space support and HDR True Black 500 certification. There are finger and optical stylus touch panel options and in all cases its hinges allow its premium thin aluminum chassis (from 1.29 kg) to be deployed up to 180 degrees.

The notebooks have also been improved for video conferencing, productivity and collaboration tasks Webcam 1440p resolution and support for Windows Hello, which supports biometric login via a fingerprint reader or using facial recognition from the camera. Audio has also been improved with two speakers, three microphones and support for the DTS:X Ultra standard.

In the connectivity section, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 debut, adding a good number of Thunderbolt 4, USB and HDMI ports and with LPDDR5X-8448 memory options up to 32 GB and storage with PCIe 4.0 SSD up to 2. Tbytes. With Windows 11 pre-installed, pricing and availability are as follows:

• The Acer Swift 14 AI (SF14-51/T) will be available in Spain from September 1,199 euros.
• The Acer Swift 16 AI (SF16-51/T) will be available in Spain from December 1,299 euros.

Acer Swift Go 14 AI

Acer has expanded its offer for the Microsoft Copilot+ PC platform and introduced another model of this series with a new 8-core Snapdragon. Qualcomm Hexagon NPU integrated that offers up to 45 TOPS. Equipped with up to 32 GB LPDDR5X memory and up to 1 TB NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSD, it promises up to 28 hours of video playback.

Mount an IPS screen with native resolution 14.5-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixels) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and support for 100% of the sRGB color gamut. The display also achieves an RPF rating of 50, which means a 50% reduction in blue light and more than 20% less blue light toxicity. Users will appreciate the sound quality of its stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra audio and 1440p QHD IR camera with private shutter.

The 180-degree hinge design allows users to increase the versatility of using the device from different angles and allows the device to be opened with one hand. It comes with two USB 4.0 Type-C ports that support fast charging, two USB Type-A ports, as well as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. With Windows 11 pre-installed, the Acer Swift Go 14 AI (SFG14-01) will be available in Spain from September 999 euros.

Acer Swift 14 AI AMD

And since there are no two without three, we can say that Acer has also developed another Swift notebook for the third hardware architecture that powers these Copilots, AMD’s Ryzen AI 300. And I personally like it the most out of all.

Offers three screen configurations 14-inch to choose from: 120 Hz IPS, 2K touchscreen or high-end 90 Hz OLED with DisplayHDR True Black 500 and Eyesafe 2.0 certification. Like the other versions, it opens 180 degrees. Your processor can reach Ryzen AI 9 365 with integrated Radeon 880M graphics and 50 TOP NPUs.

Connectivity is similar to the ARM model, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, USB4 ports, stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra audio and a 1440p QHD IR camera. With Windows 11 pre-installed, the Acer Swift 14 AI (SF14-61/T) will be available in Spain from this month for 1,199 euros in basic configuration.
