On World Electric Vehicle Day, which is celebrated this Monday, September 9, Kia Colombia encourages people to think about the positive impact that electric vehicles have on the planet.

Fuel savings, reduced maintenance costs, tax benefits and freedom from mobility restrictions are very important benefits.

By reducing CO2 emissions to zero, electric vehicles are not only a cost-effective option, but also an important solution for mitigating climate change and improving air quality in cities.

On World EV Day, celebrated on September 9, Kia Colombia encourages reflection on the positive impact of electric vehicles on the planet and celebrates the progress made by the automotive industry in further promoting cleaner and more sustainable mobility. The brand invites drivers to explore the benefits of electric mobility, which not only improves air quality and reduces emissions, but also provides significant financial savings.

In this sense, “Kia confirms its commitment to sustainable mobility by offering an increasingly robust portfolio: EV9, EV6 and EV5, models that not only embody technological innovation but also offer a long-term economic and environmental solution, ideal for those looking for a zero-emission future and savings in daily use,” says Kia Colombia CEO Jorge Neira.

Electric vehicles, while they represent a larger initial investment, offer high long-term returns. This is due to a number of key factors that make them the smartest choice for cost-conscious drivers.

Firstly, there are the ever-increasing fuel prices, when electric mobility offers a much cheaper alternative. Drivers of electric vehicles such as the EV9, EV6 and EV5 benefit from a significant reduction in operating costs thanks to electricity as the main source of energy, which is significantly cheaper than petrol or diesel.

Another factor is that in Colombia, owners of electric vehicles have tax incentives, such as a reduction in the registration tax, as well as other tax incentives that make the acquisition of these vehicles more affordable. In addition, they are exempt from travel restrictions such as peak and slab, which means savings on the use of other modes of transport during restrictions.

Additionally, electric vehicles have fewer mechanical components than traditional cars, resulting in lower maintenance costs. Owners of a Kia EV9, EV6 or EV5 can forget about checks related to combustion engines, oil changes and other complex systems, resulting in fewer visits to the workshop and greater peace of mind.

By reducing CO2 emissions to zero, Kia electric vehicles are not only a cost-effective option, but also an important solution to mitigate climate change and improve air quality in cities. By choosing electric mobility, drivers actively contribute to a cleaner, healthier future for future generations.

In addition to economic and environmental benefits, the Kia EV9, EV6 and EV5 models feature advanced technologies that take the driving experience to a new level:

  • Autonomous and assisted driving: Kia EVs are equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and automatic emergency braking, to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Fast chargers and extended battery life: With the ability to charge at fast charging stations, Kia models significantly reduce waiting times and offer exceptional autonomy, allowing drivers to travel long distances without recharging.
  • Communication and personalization: Full integration with smartphones, advanced infotainment systems and personalization of the user experience through intelligent technologies.

Kia is aiming to have 40% of its sales globally be electric and hybrid vehicles by 2030. To this end, the company is developing spaces such as the recently opened Kia E-Ground in Ecuador, a space where innovation and sustainability meet to showcase the latest advances in electric vehicle technology and best practices in sustainability.

It also promotes spaces such as Kia EV Land, which has been developed in different locations in Colombia and features immersive experiences that allow you to learn about concepts such as electrification, autonomy, consumption and sustainability that the brand has incorporated into its vehicles.

But Kia’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond promoting its cars: the brand has committed to becoming a carbon-neutral company by 2045 through “Plan S,” which includes a range of initiatives to reduce carbon emissions across all stages of the life cycle of its vehicles, from production to use and recycling.

“Our EV9, EV6 and EV5 models are more than just electric vehicles; they are investments in a more economical, sustainable and technologically advanced future. These vehicles offer the ideal solution for those who want to reduce their environmental impact and save in the long term, without compromising driving quality and cutting-edge innovation. On this World Electric Vehicle Day, we invite all Colombians to join the transition to electric mobility by exploring our models in our showcases, testing them and finding out why they are the smartest and most responsible option for the present and the future,” concludes Jorge Neira.
