Apple Announces iOS 18 Release September 16It will offer iPhone users a number of important features, including new home screen customization options, an updated Control Center, and much more.

Apple Intelligence’s set of AI functions will only appear in iOS 18.1, which is expected to be released in late October.

To install the update, simply go to your smartphone’s settings, select “General” and then “Software Update.”

Although there were no new iPad models yesterday, we know the release date of iPadOS 18. It has the same release date as the smartphone operating system – September 16.

MacOS Sequoia laptop operating system also to be released September 16.

Like iOS 18, macOS Sequoia won’t have Apple Intelligence features at launch, instead delaying them until at least the release of macOS Sequoia 15.1 in late October. But Sequoia still has a few interesting features.

Features like Writing Tools, Notification Summaries, Siri input, ChatGPT support, Playground, and Genmoji are considered part of the Apple Intelligence feature set and will be available later.

Is your Mac compatible?

As usual, macOS Sequoia will end support for more Intel Macs and will only be compatible with the following models:

  • 2020 MacBook Air and newer.
  • 2018 MacBook Pro and newer.
  • 2019 iMac and newer.
  • 2018 Mac mini and newer.
  • 2017 iMac Pro and newer.
  • 2022 Mac Studio and above.
  • 2019 Mac Pro and later.

If you’re using a discontinued Mac like the 2018-2019 MacBook Air, you’re out of luck — but you’ll still get macOS Sonoma security updates for another two years.

watchOS 11 release date

Finally, on the same day, September 16watchOS 11 operating system for smart watches has also been released.

  • This update adds new interactive widgets to the Smart Stack and shows Live Events on iPhone for the first time.
  • The update also comes with a new Vitals app that gives users better context about their health based on data collected by the Apple Watch.
  • Users will find more personalized activity rings in the Fitness app. For example, you can now designate a rest day or set different goals for certain days of the week.
  • Meanwhile, Apple Fitness+ adds a new For You area and improved rewards.
