A new update for the Google Pixel camera (not GCam) is ready to be installed on the brand’s mobile phones: Version 9.5 brings important new features. It hasn’t expanded too much yet, but you can avoid the wait: we tell you how to update your Pixel now.
Google hasn’t stopped improving the camera on its phones, an effort that has had a positive impact on a popular app, GCam, or modified camera app. With the Google Pixel 9, the software has taken a leap forward in naturalness and artificial intelligence, and the smart editing options of Google Photos have also been expanded. Don’t have a Pixel 9? Google is bringing camera improvements to previous models.
Astrophotography Takes to the Next Level with Pixel Camera 9.5
We were expecting the change in the night shots of the Google Pixel in the summer: the leaked APK of version 9.5 revealed a manual mode that offered a selector for different night shots, including astrophotography. In this way it is much easier to customize.
The new Pixel camera update is already in full expansion, although it has probably not reached you yet. This is exactly what happened to us with both the Pixel 8 Pro and the Pixel 6. Fortunately, it is possible to use the corresponding APK.
Do you also want to update the camera app on your Google Pixel? Just follow these steps:
- Go to APK Mirror and download Pixel Camera 9.5 update APKM.
- You need to download a bundled app installer on your Google Pixel. Our favorite app is APK Mirror, available on Google Play.
- Click on the downloaded file and it should open with the installer.
- You will automatically choose the ideal configuration for your Google Pixel. Click “Install app”.
- You will see the phone prompting you to update the camera app. Accept it.
- That’s it. The file is secure and signed by Google.
The main new feature concerns the astrophotography mode: go to “Night View”, click on the moon icon (bottom right), you’ll see the time slider appear and a new mode up to four minutes. If you select this option, the time will be extended to that time, i.e. four minutes. Although there is an application that estimates a certain period.
