I was just surprised to find out about Kind Words 2 and just read the name It already gave me goosebumps. It’s quite likely that upon reading this name, the vast majority of you don’t know what I’m talking about, but I hope that after reading this message and knowing what this surprising proposal is all about, it may trigger some type of emotional response for more than one of you. There will probably be those who call me an adventurer, but a few months after turning half a century old, that’s one of the things that worries me very little.

As can be easily deduced from its full name, Here we are waiting for the second part of the game, The Kind Words, which I wrote a post about when I was only a few weeks into the MuyComputer team. However, on that occasion, I knew about the game in advance, and it was this knowledge that prompted me to write this publication. Today, however, I am discovering kind words 2 in real time as I write this news.

Brief introduction: Kind Words is a 2019 game-non-game in which we settle into what is supposed to be our bedroom, relax listening to lo-fi music, and at any given moment we see paper airplanes start to appear Each of these planes contains an anonymous note written by another player.. A note where you can express concern, discomfort, sadness, fear… you name it. And your job, if you will, is to try to comfort that person with your answer. And there your interaction will end as it will not be possible to respond to a reply, write to the same person again, etc. A fleeting connection of support, in which of course you can also be the one sending the message and looking for answers that will give you a little comfort that you may not have at the time .

Given the uniqueness of this proposal, it seems strange at first to think about what kind of evolution could justify a second part, but it seems that Popcannibal, the small studio that signed it, managed to find a way, and after several years of development, Kind Words 2 will be released on October 7thin less than four weeks. And for anyone interested in getting it, its Steam page is now available, so it’s now possible to add it to your wishlist.

If the “action” of the original title took place in the bedroom, Kind Words 2 invites us to leave that solitude and instead go out on the streetin which everything indicates that we will be able to maintain more extensive interactions with other players, just one of the weaknesses of the first part. So it turns out that it was possible to get even closer to those people who need us, or those who need us to share a few kind words.
