As you may remember, last Tuesday Huawei introduced the Huawei Mate XTa surprising device that has already been seen several times, both in the hands of a high-ranking company executive. This lack of discretion made us think that we were not dealing with an oversight, but that the manager consciously wanted to make it visible, which made us think about an announcement not too far in time. And indeed, shortly after the company announced a “mysterious” event, which we knew from the first moment would be the debut of this revolutionary device.

Thanks to the double folding presentation Huawei has once again placed itself at the forefront of technological innovationand it’s true that we’ve seen prototypes of this type in the past, but we’re facing the first real design of a device that suggests a device that offers three different form factors depending on how we use its folds. I’ve said on more than one occasion that if there’s one thing I like, it’s a commitment to breaking the traditional form factor, and in this case the design is sensational.

Now, and as we also expected, the company has confirmed that at launch The Huawei Mate XT is only sold in its country of origin, China. And we expected it, because it’s also understandable. We are talking about a rather risky bet, also rather expensive (its price starts at 19,999 yuan, around 2,540 euros at the exchange rate), and which therefore has a very complicated sales profile. Trying to enter the international market with it before doing a test in the market you know best would be very, very risky.

However, while waiting to see how it works in the local market, Portuguese media TugaTech raised an interesting hypothesis that would indicate the direction in which Huawei is considering bringing the Huawei Mate XT to international markets. And the reason for formulating this theory is that the brand has announced the launch of the double fold on its international social media accounts.

This may seem like a small detail, but Huawei never uses these accounts when launching a device aimed exclusively at the local market.thus we are faced with an anomaly, an exception that does not usually occur in the official accounts of large technology companies. It is true, however, that It is possible that they chose to ignore their policy in this regard given the novelty of the facility and the interest it has generated internationally. But of course this also applies to the company’s other products (remember that its catalog and its variety is much wider in China), so even if we make this assumption, it’s still a bit amazing.

Be that as it may, given the interest the Huawei Mate XT has generated outside of China, it’s also likely that if the brand was planning to make it an exclusively local product, now he’s reconsidering. And that would be most interesting because it would certainly cause moves in that direction by its competitors.
