The IT and consulting company Capgemini is said to have been attacked by a hacker who stole 20 GB of sensitive data.

A hacker known as Grep has reportedly hacked IT and consulting company Capgemini. The hacker makes off with a large database containing 20GB of confidential information, reports The Register. This sensitive information includes a number of databases, source code, private keys, login credentials, API keys, projects, as well as employee data and even customer data. Capgemini has so far neither confirmed nor denied this theft.

20 GB of sensitive data

The criminal, known as Grep, is said to have compromised Capgemini and stolen 20 GB of sensitive data from the company. This data includes a number of databases, source code, private keys, credentials, API keys, projects, employee data and other information.

The Register was able to view lists of Capgemini employees in parts of the leaked information. It appeared to include their names, email addresses, usernames and password hashes. In addition, backup archives and files containing Capgemini customer information also appeared to be involved.

The criminal also shared the stolen data with other forum users, along with some examples. The IT and consulting company did not respond to The Register’s request for comment.
