Everyone makes mistakes, but if you distort the truth or get confused on the line in the video on YouTube, it can be difficult to correct the mistake. You can edit and re-upload videos, but that means you lose all your comments and engagement metrics. You can add a note to the video’s description or add a comment with a correction, but this may go unnoticed by most viewers.

That’s why YouTube is introducing a new feature called “fixes” that allows creators to easily add obvious fixes. After downloading the video, creators can add fixes that will appear as flashcards with the appropriate timestamp in the top right corner of the video (but it only seems to be the first fix in any video). Viewers can then click the card to expand the correction notes in the video description.

This feature looks a bit special, but it’s definitely very useful. YouTube shouldn’t force creators to choose between making adjustments to the recording and maximizing the performance of their videos, so any tool that helps them do both is welcome.
