Starting today, you can sign up for the public trial of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1.

Earlier this week, users were able to download iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia 15 for the first time. It is no coincidence that the timing coincided with the availability of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro on store shelves. The update is currently rolling out smoothly, with the exception of the latest iPad Pro models with the M4 chip on board. There, the latest update crashed after installation and rendered devices unusable. Apple has temporarily blocked the update on these devices.

Apple is now looking ahead and is making the first test version of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1 available. All you have to do is register as a tester on Apple’s website.

Keep in mind that test versions can often contain many bugs a month before public availability.

Anyone who has an iPad or Mac with at least an M1 chip on board or an iPhone can test the first Apple Intelligence functions in this beta version. At least for everyone who lives outside the European Union. In protest against the rules of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Apple does not offer its AI tools in the EU. Apple has been appointed a gatekeeper there, which means it has to adhere to strict rules.

Only macOS users can use Apple Intelligence, at least after installing the trial version or waiting for the stable public release later this year.
