The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra was, as you know, the absolute pinnacle of the previous generation offering flagship Korean technology. Introduced in February of last year, it was clear to us from the first moment that we were facing a smartphone that clearly deserves its honorable position in this market. And as we learned a little later, also in the field of devices that are particularly profitable for Samsung, in favor of the house. And let’s remember that when it was launched, its price started at 1,409 euros.
In mid-January of this year, the presentation of the Galaxy S24 took place, including the Ultra model of this generation, which logically became the successor to the Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, this in no way means that S23 has lost validity, interest, and even less users. And we must not forget that we are talking about high-end devices whose functions (and also the price, why deny it), call for their lifespan to be extended by several years.
Of course, it plays a vital role in this manufacturer’s update policysomething we’ve thankfully seen major improvements to in recent years from major manufacturers. If so motu proprio or, conversely, in response to legal frameworks that place more and more weight on the fight against planned obsolescence and in favor of the right to repair, we will never know, but fortunately it is.
Now we know what happens with updates sometimes, and while Microsoft (more specifically Windows) is to blame for how conflicting its updates are, in reality these problems are much more widespread. And such is the case, as we can read in SamMobile, where they tell us Samsung has paused the One UI 6.1.1 OTA update for the Galaxy S23 Ultra due to camera issues.
More specifically, some users reported that after updating their Galaxy S23 Ultra (it’s the only affected model) to One UI 6.1.1, Images taken with the camera at certain settings were blurry. More precisely, as we read in the mentioned publication, the problem occurs when using a zoom level between 16x and 19.9x, and the result is that the focused object will have distorted edges and, in addition, a veil will appear in some zones.
With the update downloaded Samsung confirms receipt and we understand that he will go to work to fix the problem for those who have already installed the update, and also to offer it without errors to those who have been waiting for it.
