We already have requirements for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the game that will arrive next November 19 and it seems that it has everything to become one of the reference titles for testing the performance of today’s most powerful computers. It will be quite challenging, but also quite affordable.

I know this seems like a contradiction, but it is what we can see when we see the various lists of official requirements shared by Microsoft. As always, I will discuss them in detail with you and show you what is possible equivalence errors.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Requirements

Minimum requirements

• Windows 10 updated to the latest version.
• DirectX 12.
• Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i7-6800K processor.
• 16 GB of RAM.
• GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 5700 graphics card.
• 4 GB of graphics memory.
• 50 GB free space.
• Internet connection at a speed of 10 Mbps.

The equivalence bug we have here is very serious and it’s on the graphics card. GeForce GTX 970 equivalent to Radeon RX 570and not on Radeon RX 5700.

No performance details were given, but this configuration should be enough for gaming 1080p with low quality.

Recommended requirements

• Windows 10 updated to the latest version.
• DirectX 12.
• Ryzen 7 2700X or Intel Core i7-10700K processor.
• 32 GB of RAM.
• GeForce RTX 2080 or Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card.
• 8 GB of graphics memory.
• 50 GB free space.
• Internet connection at a speed of 50 Mbps.

We have two equivalence errors. Intel Core i7-10700K is closer to Ryzen 7 3700X and GeForce RTX 2080 performs on par Radeon RX 7600.

It should be playable with this configuration 1080p with maximum quality at 60 stable FPS.

Ideal requirements

• Windows 10 updated to the latest version.
• DirectX 12.
• Ryzen 9 7900X or Intel Core i7-14700K processor.
• 64 GB of RAM.
• GeForce RTX 4080 or Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card.
• 12 GB of graphics memory.
• 50 GB free space.
• Internet connection at a speed of 100 Mbps.

There is another equivalency error as the GeForce RTX 4080 is closer in performance Radeon RX 7900 XTX.

With this configuration, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 should work without any problems 4K with maximum quality.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is also designed for scalability much better on multi-threaded processorssomething that was one of the big limitations of the previous installment.
